The Relational Mind of Men:

Understanding the Man Code and Engaging the Relational Minds of Men

One Day Training for Professionals

Friday, August 22, 2014,  9-5

Meeting Location:

CenterPoint Counseling

7700 N. Meridian St, Indpls, IN 46260

Cost:  $157

This one day course is designed for professionals who have experienced frustration counseling a man who is out of touch with his feelings, an intimidating man with a short fuse, or a depressed or passive man who stonewalls efforts to facilitate connection with his partner.

Men can be a real challenge in relationships.  From birth, men are trained to work, compete, win, be right, and at all costs, avoid the Big Three: feelings of inadequacy, failure and shame.  The Big Three drive the anger and rage that men often do express, damaging families and relationships.  The communication biases and assumptions of the counseling and therapy profession can highlight men’s weaknesses, and therefore increase anxiety and resistance to personal change.

Join Robert Patterson and Sulaiman Nuriddin for a real life experience of men’s community and how to engage men in personal growth, the change process, and serving the needs of their families and intimate relationships.

Course Objectives:

  • Apply a skill set to help improve men's relational choices.
  • Utilize sentence stems, structured exercises, and challenges to help men better communicate feelings and needs in relationship.
  • Explain and outline the relational styles of men.
  • State the rationale for men's community as a key component in the change process.
  • Demonstrate and experience the Clearing For Men Group Process.
